Stage Make Up for Dancers Workshops

Learn the skills to do perfect stage make up every time and create a variety of looks for yourself. After working in the fashion industry for nearly 10 years and performing on stage for most of her life, Emily has a unique skill set to offer on makeup application. The morning class will cover doing a basic stage face that can be used for any event or photo shoot and include tips about products, resources, application and more. The afternoon class will take it to the next level with contouring, color theory, texture, creating characters, body paint and more! Please note pre-registration is required for the make up class due to the included instruction materials provided. Room is extremely limited in both classes. Make up remover will be provided. ~ The Basic Stage Face: 10am-12pm ~
Apply stage make up for dance that always looks good whether performing on a large stage, dancing in an intimate setting or doing a photo shoot. This hands on lecture class will instruct how to do a basic face that can be modified for any situation. We'll also discuss products, colors, application and how-to advice for a variety of make up situations as well as making the best out of drug store brands. There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A. Class includes an in-depth demo of stage face and you are invited to bring your make up bag to try out techniques as they are taught. Participants will come away with knowledge of how to prepare for a performance or a photo shoot to bring out their own unique beauty. A detailed comprehensive handout is provided.
Lunch Break! 12-1pm
Healthy lunch provided for students signing up for both classes (or feel free to bring a snack/lunch).
~ Next Level Make Up Skills: 1-3pm ~
You know the basics... Now what? Get creative! Learn advanced skills like contouring, creating a character face, working with color and texture, color theory, texture, body paint and more! Explore tricks and break the rules about how to use make up. We will come up with performance concepts/themes as a group and Emily will demo various ways to create a suitable make up look. There will be plenty of lab time and Q&A for participants to explore their ideas. A detailed comprehensive handout is provided including inspiration, step-by-step directions and resources for a variety of stage make up items. The end of class will be lab time and may go past 3pm depending on participants.
The fine print: No refunds, credits, transfers or IOUs. Pre-registration is required for the make up workshop and highly recommended for both classes. Checks may be written to Emily Alrick and delivered by May 18th for the pre-reg prices. Students may not split payments or workshops. If a student can not attend a class they may give or sell it to someone else at their discretion. Emily is not responsible for unattended classes, PayPal issues, injury/reaction to make up or inability to attend.
